ORDER OF WORSHIP

Sunday - August 14, 2022

“The darker the night, the brighter the stars. The deeper the grief, the closer is God!” - Fyodor Dostoevsky

  • Ascribe to the LORD, O heavenly beings, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness.

  • Open the eyes of my heart, Lord

    Open the eyes of my heart;

    I want to see You, I want to see You.

    Open the eyes of my heart, Lord

    Open the eyes of my heart;

    I want to see You, I want to see You.

    To see You high and lifted up,

    Shining in the light of Your glory.

    Pour out Your pow'r and love;

    As we sing holy, holy, holy...

    Holy, holy, holy

    Holy, holy, holy

    Holy, holy, holy

    I want to see You.

    I want to see You.

  • THE  APOSTLES CREED

    I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell.

    The third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

    I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy *catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

    * Note: Use of the word “catholic” in this sense simply means universal. As the Church, we believe that God has purchased for Himself a people from every nation, time, tribe, tongue, and people group.

  •  [1] It shall come to pass in the latter days

      that the mountain of the house of the LORD

    shall be established as the highest of the mountains,

      and it shall be lifted up above the hills;

    and peoples shall flow to it,

     [2] and many nations shall come, and say:

     “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,

      to the house of the God of Jacob,

    that he may teach us his ways

      and that we may walk in his paths.”

    For out of Zion shall go forth the law,

      and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

     [3] He shall judge between many peoples,

      and shall decide disputes for strong nations far away;

    and they shall beat their swords into plowshares,

      and their spears into pruning hooks;

    nation shall not lift up sword against nation,

      neither shall they learn war anymore;

     [4] but they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree,

      and no one shall make them afraid,

      for the mouth of the LORD of hosts has spoken.

     [5] For all the peoples walk

      each in the name of its god,

    but we will walk in the name of the LORD our God

      forever and ever.

     [6] In that day, declares the LORD,

      I will assemble the lame

    and gather those who have been driven away

      and those whom I have afflicted;

     [7] and the lame I will make the remnant,

      and those who were cast off, a strong nation;

    and the LORD will reign over them in Mount Zion

      from this time forth and forevermore.

  • Before the throne of God above,

    I have a strong, a perfect plea,

    A great High Priest whose name is Love

    Who ever lives and pleads for me.

    My name is graven on His hands,

    My name is written on His heart;

    I know that while in heaven He stands

    No tongue can bid me thence depart.

    No tongue can bid me thence depart.

    When Satan tempts me to despair,

    And tells me of the guilt within,

    Upward I look and see Him there

    Who made an end to all my sin.

    Because the sinless Savior died,

    my sinful soul is counted free;

    For God, the Just, is satisfied

    to look on him and pardon me.

    to look on him and pardon me.

    Behold him there! the risen Lamb,

    my perfect, spotless Righteousness,

    the great unchangeable I AM,

    the King of glory and of grace!

    One with Himself I cannot die,

    My soul is purchased by His blood;

    My life is hid with Christ on high,

    with Christ, my Savior and my God

    with Christ, my Savior and my God

  • Our Father which art in heaven,

    Hallowed be thy name.

    Thy kingdom come,

    Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.

    Give us this day our daily bread.

    And forgive us our debts,

    as we forgive our debtors.

    And lead us not into temptation,

    but deliver us from evil:

    For thine is the kingdom, and the power,

    and the glory, forever Amen.

  • Knowing you, Jesus, knowing you

    There is no greater thing

    You're my all, you're the best

    You're my joy, my righteousness

    And I love you Lord

  • [12] Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” [13] So the Pharisees said to him, “You are bearing witness about yourself; your testimony is not true.” [14] Jesus answered, “Even if I do bear witness about myself, my testimony is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going, but you do not know where I come from or where I am going. [15] You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one. [16] Yet even if I do judge, my judgment is true, for it is not I alone who judge, but I and the Father who sent me. [17] In your Law it is written that the testimony of two people is true. [18] I am the one who bears witness about myself, and the Father who sent me bears witness about me.” [19] They said to him therefore, “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father also.” [20] These words he spoke in the treasury, as he taught in the temple; but no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.

  • In the morning, when I rise

    In the morning, when I rise

    In the morning, when I rise, give me Jesus

    Give me Jesus

    Give me Jesus

    You can have all this world

    But give me Jesus

    And when I am alone

    Oh, and when I am alone

    And when I am alone, give me Jesus

    Give me Jesus

    Give me Jesus

    You can have all this world

    But give me Jesus

    And when I come to die

    Oh, and when I come to die

    And when I come to die, give me Jesus

    Give me Jesus

    Give me Jesus

    You can have all this world

    You can have all this world

    You can have all this world

    But give me Jesus

  • (Romans 15:5–6) May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
