CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

A new year of Children’s Ministry at Riverside kicked off this Fall with a “Tool Time” theme and a fun time of singing, meeting our Sunday School teachers, and introducing this year’s theme (Heb. 13:20-21).  We are focusing on equipping our children with what they need to grow in their knowledge and faith in Christ and on putting tools in parents hands to help them disciple their children throughout all the daily ins and outs of life.  This takes a great deal of intentionality and wisdom but know that as parents, you are not alone! You are part of the Body of Christ and we are to come alongside one another as we teach and train our children in the Gospel and a Biblical Worldview.  For more information on Children's Ministries @ Riverside contact Ashley Williamson.

COMMUNITY GROUPS

(Groups meet monthly during the summer)

Community Groups are small groups of 12-15 people who meet together in a group leader’s home for a meal, great fellowship, sermon-based discussions, and prayer. Each Community Group is also responsible to identify, plan, and participate in a quarterly outreach/local mission project together. Groups are the perfect place to meet new friends and grow in your faith as you learn more about what it means to be a follower of Christ. New Community Groups are gearing up to launch soon. For more information contact Corbin Williamson.

LOCAL & FOREIGN MISSIONS

We partner with local organizations & ministries as we seek to bring the good news of Christ redemption to Prattville and the River Region. We're also excited about our mission partnership with Outreach North America and World Witness. Through financial and prayer support of these ARP organizations Riverside is making an impact not only in Prattville, but throughout the world through relief missions, church planting, evangelism, Christian education, and mercy ministries.

As a congregation of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church we're connected and we're actively doing ministry in places like Eastern Europe, Germany, Latin-America, Mexico, Turkey, Pakistan, Scotland, Spain, Ukraine, the United States, and Wales.

Wonderfully Made

Wonderfully Made (Psalm 139:14) is a ministry to children with special-abilities and their families. Our focus is to minister to these families in both word and deed by providing opportunities for them to be connected to the Body of Christ through worship, connection groups and community-based activities. We seek to show the love of Christ to children with disabilities and their families by walking alongside of them. We believe that ALL people are wonderfully made in the image of Christ and have a God-given purpose. Wonderfully Made is committed to providing community outreach and respite events throughout the year.

FORMS:

EVENTS & TRAINING:

  • SPRING EVENT - Easter Egg-Stravangaza This event provides an opportunity for children with special abilities and families to come be a part of an Easter Egg Hunt specifically designed to meet their needs. We provide adapted eggs such as magnetized eggs that can be picked up with dowel rods for those in wheelchairs and candy-free eggs for those with diet restrictions.

  • FALL EVENT - Back to School Bash This event involves decorating our rides (bikes, wagons, strollers, wheelchairs, etc.) and then holding our very own parade at the park. Other highlights of this event include crafts, games, a cookout and a Super Hero Photo Booth.
  • DECEMBER EVENT – Happy Birthday Jesus Party/Drop & Shop This event is a celebration of Jesus’ birth through games, music, story and crafts. Entire families are invited to come and be a part of this celebration event. After the birthday party, we offer a time of respite for individuals with special needs and their siblings. This allows time for parents to get some shopping done or just have a cup of coffee with a friend.

Riverside church invites their families to come and be a part of all of these events. We believe that this provides an opportunity for children of all ability levels to enjoy these times of celebration with their peers in a safe and accepting environment.

  • Men's Ministry

The men of Riverside get together often for good, godly, and manly fellowship. We spend time together discussing God's Word, life, theology, and mission. We also do a lot of outdoor things together like camping, fishing, hiking, and target shooting while remembering that,  "Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another." - Pro 27:17

  • Women's Ministry

The women of Riverside gather in formal and informal ways for weekly Bible Study, quarterly Ladies Night Out, and various fellowship opportunities. Be sure to check the church calendar to see what's happening in our men's and women's ministries.
